George's Other Inventions

     George Nissen, Always Inventing

Nissen purchased the Medart Company’s gymnastic division and started improving all their equipment.George used welded  prefabrication base which replaced cast iron bases. He added separate soft wheel transporters which helped prevent gymnastics equipment from damaging varnished gymnasium floors. He invented a rod-cable system that had interchangeable parts. George also invented a complete set of equipment for men and women that was portable and did not require floor plates. He worked on making all his gymnastics equipment lighter than the European’s equipment.

George Nissen invented one new object every other year almost to the end of his life. He died on April 7, 2010 at the age of 96.
